The Aro Cargo Bike was created by Aro Valley Community Council thanks to funding from Wellington City Council's Communities on Bikes Fund and Bicycle Junction!
WHAT IS IT? This cargo bike share is membership system. Each member needs to pay a membership and service fee of $60 and a credit card needs to be attached to each member. Members can attach other riders to their credit card. Alternately, casual hire is available at $5 per hire. If a member does not have a credit card, they need to pay a bond of $100 that will be returned upon the return of the bike. Each person who uses the Cargo bike will need to provide a form of identification. The bike must be picked up and returned to the Aro Valley Community Centre, unless otherwise organised with Community Centre staff. Any damage to the bike must be reported to the staff at the Community Centre. If the bike is not returned before the allocated time there will be a charge of $50/day. The bike must be locked when not in use. The cargo bike cannot carry more than 4 children or 100 kgs.
