This event has been created with the purpose of preserving and sharing culture through dances and music - Join us every Monday 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$15 per class*
What to expect?
The first 15 minutes are for registration, the next 30 minutes for a warm-up and different routines to explore your own possibility of movements and expression. After that, 1 hour to learn one of the traditional types of dance (which changes monthly) and finally 15 min of cooling down.
About these dances:
Dance as a dynamic cultural expression has been an integral part of the pre-Columbian religion. With the superimposition of European and African dances\music upon existing traditional dances in the Americas, new dance forms resulted in a fusion of beliefs and practices.
Traditional dances of México are known as folklore; which also denotes a collective cultural knowledge not only of dance; but also music, crafts, literature, and linguistic characteristics, to name a few.
These are the things that bind us together as a cohesive social group and we are happy to share this space with everyone interested.
Join us! Everyone is welcome!
*Money shouldn't be the reason why someone can’t come. If you really want to attend but can't afford it, just contact us! We'll be happy to talk and accept an affordable donation from you.
